Message from NIEM’s Secretary-General
Dr. Anuchar Sethasathien
It is my great pleasure to serve as the Secretary-General of the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM). I would like to take this opportunity to present the goals of NIEM by following the principles of the 5ค(คis the third Thai alphabet with the pronunciation “K”.)
ครอบคลุม(Coverage) is made available for patients not only with extensive injuries but also patients with Ischemic heart disease, stroke, Ignatius crisis in maternal and child birth and pregnancy.
คล่องแคล่ว (Active) by increasing the number of rescue teams to better serve the general public. They are now able to arrive to look after patients within 8 minutes of the emergency call.
ครบถ้วน 24ชั่วโมง( 24 hours service) a network of 24-hour emergency medical service that is available for the general public
คุณภาพ(Quality) to further develop the Institute as a service-oriented organization and to conduct self-assessment to ensure standard and safety.
คุ้มครอง (Protection) to protect the society and the welfare of the emergency operators.
In addition to the principles of the 5 ค,we also need to further strengthen the following areas:
Personnel: to build the capacity NIEM by further developing the human resources in order to implement the strategic operations to the goals;
Structure: to restructure the operation to achieve efficient and seamless coordination both internally and externally;
Knowledge: to utilize the latest technology system for up-to-date in order to provide proper monitoring and evaluation at all levels;
Network: to have better coordination among the 4 main teams; providers, buyers producers and quality controllers;
Finance: to procure and allocate sufficient resources to prepare the institute to meet its goals.
I pledge to work with all staff andI am confident we can achieve our goals.
