Pattaya is encouraging public to be alert of Disaster Preparedness at sea. If they see the red flag, they must get out of the water immediately. It is a warning sign for rough sea.Aslo a 1669 emergency call is promoted for public to get emergency help.

Pattaya is a tourist attraction city, both Thai and foreignerss. With the beauty of natural surroundings and the economy growth such as Jomtien beach, Pattaya beach, Koh Lan and, etc. The high numbers of tourists are heading to Pattaya during rainy season so Pattaya city is more strict and prepared to help the water accident victims as much as possible.

Mr. Wuthichai Oopali a marine coast guard told us that the city of Pattaya is aware and prioritize the importance of life safety at sea. The maritime rescue office is located at Bali Hai cape. Its mission  is for public safety, rescue, search and assist people who got effected, including maritime security along with a team of qualified and a well-equipped rescue boat personnel who is ready to get out there 24/7. 

Besides the assistance, Pattaya also has a maritime warning system to alert visitors when disaster occurs such as the red flag means rough sea at that moment so public need  to be careful to swim or sailing. The disaster alert system coordinates with the Meteorological Department and Disaster Warning Center make the early waring possible, fast and effectively.
