Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office provides Emergency Water Rescue Training to 60 emergency medical personnel of Chiang Rai and nearby provinces.

Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office provides Emergency Water Rescue Training to 60 emergency medical personnel of Chiang Rai and nearby provinces. The trainers from Song Kla Naval Hospital and Water Emergency Rescue Association instruct all participants’ concepts and also a workshop for three days on how to rescue victim from drowning, water sickness and how they should move and transport injured victims from water accident.

        

Mr. Surin Soommanaphan, M.D. the Chiang Rai Public Provincial Health doctor says that overall number of people drowning victims and water accidents in Thailand have been gradually increasing. There are 3 drowning victims in Chiang Rai in 2016. Since 3 major rivers passinmg through the city and also border our neighbor countries, there are a lot of water tourist attractions. In the past, there was only land-based emergency rescue as a main practice, there was none of water emergency rescue personnel who was knowledgeable, properly and professionally trained to conduct an emergency rescue promptly to save and rescue victims from drowning.
